The long wait is finally over for the Portage Collegiate Institute Trojans boys' hockey team.
The Trojans broke through with their first win of the season on Monday night, making victims of the Mennonite Collegiate Institute Blues by a 9-3 count at Gretna Arena.
The win snapped the club's regular season skid at six games, and helped the team rebound from a 6-2 loss on the road facing the Morris Mavericks on Friday.
Jordan Wright, Josh Pashe and Jaden Vandene all had two-goal outings for the Trojans in Monday's win, leaving the Blues as the only winless team remaining in the Zone 4 Hockey League.
