File photo -- Bruce Buckley, with the Manitoba Government Employees' Union (MGEU), dishes out a plate of pasta during the 2008 Spaghetti Lunch at the Royal Canadian Legion in Portage la Prairie.

Twirl it, slurp it, scoop it or slice it, there will be plenty of pasta on hand Wednesday during the annual spaghetti lunch.

As usual, the Manitoba Government Employees Union will host the event, a fundraiser for the Portage Plains United Way, with food prepared at the Portage Correctional Centre.

"We'll definitely be kicking around and working," United Way executive director Tara Pettinger said.

The spaghetti lunch will take place at the Royl Canadian Legion on Nov. 4 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 each and include lunch, beverage and a dessert. You can also order takeout, which will be delivered to your place of work.
